U.S. Stocks Push Toward Records as Yields Ease; Nvidia Nears $6 Trillion Market Value

NEW YORK — U.S. stock futures pointed higher on Tuesday morning as Wall Street looked to extend a strong start to the week, with the S&P 500 sitting less than 1 percent from a record high after the tech-heavy Nasdaq Composite closed at a record on Monday, according to Investopedia.

Futures tracking the Dow Jones Industrial Average were up about 0.5 percent recently, while Nasdaq futures gained roughly 0.7 percent, as big technology stocks led and worries eased that the Federal Reserve could raise interest rates again later this month.

The 10-year Treasury yield pulled back to 5.26 percent on Tuesday after setting another 24-year high of 5.31 percent on Monday, while oil prices declined, with U.S. crude futures down 2.3 percent at about $87.40 a barrel. Gold futures rose 1 percent to $4,205 an ounce, and bitcoin traded near $86,100, below its recent highs.

Elon Musk is once again a trillionaire thanks to recent gains by Tesla and SpaceX, according to the report, while Nvidia is approaching a record $6 trillion market capitalization on continued investor demand for artificial intelligence stocks.

The rally extends a strong start to the week for the major indexes, which each gained on Monday on solid showings from big tech stocks and easing concerns about higher interest rates.
