Russian Drone Strikes Kyiv School; Children Sheltering Escape Injury

KYIV, Ukraine — A Russian drone struck a school in Ukraine’s capital on Thursday, sparking a fire and heavily damaging the building, according to Kyiv officials. Children were in a shelter when the strike occurred, and no injuries were reported at the school.

Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko said the attack was part of another wave of Russian aerial strikes on the capital. Images released by Ukraine’s State Emergency Service showed firefighters working through debris and extinguishing flames at the damaged school.

Separately, an attack in Odesa injured one person and damaged infrastructure, officials said. Russia said it had targeted military-related facilities in the region. Zark News has not independently verified that targeting claim.

The school strike comes amid an intensification of aerial attacks on Ukrainian cities, including the growing use of faster jet-powered drones that Ukrainian officials say are more difficult to intercept.
