U.S. and French authorities have carried out a coordinated operation against two websites that investigators say were used to sell hacked and stolen intimate images, including child sexual abuse material.
The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Virginia said on October 7 that a federal court authorized the seizure of two domains associated with NudeLeaksTeens, or NLT.
According to the seizure warrant, the sites advertised sexually explicit images and videos of young women and girls, including material investigators say had been obtained from hacked social-media accounts.
Authorities say minors were among victims
Authorities said their investigation also found child sexual abuse material on the service. Some victims were identified and confirmed to have been minors when the images were created, according to prosecutors.
Zark News is not identifying victims or reproducing material from the seized sites.
Suspected administrator arrested in France
French law enforcement simultaneously arrested a 25-year-old man in northern France who authorities suspect was the site’s main administrator. The Justice Department announcement did not identify him.
An arrest and domain seizure do not establish guilt, and the allegations have not been proven in court.
International investigation
The operation involved the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Virginia, FBI Washington Field Office, the Cybercrime Division of France’s Parquet de Paris, Arlington County Police and the Justice Department’s Office of International Affairs.
How potential victims can report
People who believe their intimate images were published without consent on NLT or elsewhere online can report the matter to the FBI at ncii.ic3.gov.
