Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry is the head of Inter-Services Public Relations, the Pakistan military’s media wing, and its public spokesman. His remarks to Reuters in Rawalpindi were the first since a high level Pakistani delegation visited Tehran this week. Pakistan has been working between Iran and the United States as the war has driven up energy prices and shaken the region. Chaudhry said the army is cautiously optimistic that mediation can work.
