The raid targeted the Voxtron call centre in the PECHS area, off Shahrah-e-Faisal, one of Karachi’s main roads. The National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency said officers seized 339 laptops, 152 mobile phones and four computer units. Additional Director Shahzad Akbar told a press conference that workers used fake names and fake online identities to call people abroad, and that several different identities were found logged into single laptops. Among those arrested were more than 100 women and 42 children under the age of 18, a detail that has drawn attention to who the centre employed and on what terms.
