ST. CLOUD, Minnesota — FBI Director Kash Patel used a fraud task force press conference in St. Cloud on Thursday to send a direct warning to people who defraud Americans.
“Know this to any fraudsters who continue or think they will continue to defraud Americans,” Patel said. “This FBI will continue to follow the money, we will continue to work with our interagency partners, and we will put every last one of you in prison.”
He closed his remarks with the same message: “The world knows we are not just watching fraud. We’re taking action, and we’re kicking butt.”
Patel spoke alongside Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, CMS Administrator Mehmet Oz and FTC Chairman Andrew Ferguson. The officials announced that FBI Minneapolis and its partners had executed 17 search warrants in a single day and arrested four people in an alleged health care fraud scheme with about $41 million in intended losses.
