Yemen’s Houthi rebels struck the headquarters of Saudi Aramco in Dhahran overnight and vowed further attacks on Saudi oil installations and airports, escalating a conflict that has widened across the region. The group said the strike was retaliation for Saudi involvement in Yemen.
Saudi Arabia said the attack caused a limited fire and no injuries. The Saudi-led coalition also said it intercepted a missile fired toward Riyadh, the capital.
The strike on the heart of the kingdom’s oil industry marks a significant escalation, raising fresh concerns about the security of Gulf energy infrastructure and global oil markets. (Sources: Saudi Energy Ministry, WSJ, AP, Reuters.)
