At a rally in Port Huron, Michigan, on October 25, President Trump accused Abdul El-Sayed of having a “record of support for jihadist” — the president’s words — and said El-Sayed “would be the only senator that will have to go through a metal detector before he’s allowed to go into the Senate.”
Four days later, in Kalamazoo, El-Sayed rejected the attack, saying he has nothing to hide, and answered: “I’ll go through a metal detector if you’ll sit for a lie detector.”
The two moments were recorded four days apart, in different cities. Both are shown here in their own words.
