ALEXANDRIA, Va. — The U.S. Air Force’s weekly “Pacific in 60” newsbreak for September 1, 2026 packs three stories from across the Indo-Pacific into a single minute: the opening of Exercise Atlas Angel II in Sri Lanka, a multinational engineering project in Indonesia during Super Garuda Shield 26, and U.S. soldiers taking part in the Royal Danish Air Force March in the Republic of Korea.
In Sri Lanka, the Montana National Guard, Pacific Air Forces and the Sri Lankan Armed Forces participated in the opening ceremony of Exercise Atlas Angel II. The exercise focuses on humanitarian assistance and is designed to strengthen interoperability between the partner forces, according to the Air Force narration.
In Indonesia, U.S., Indonesian, Canadian and Singaporean service members conducted an engineering civil action project during Super Garuda Shield 26. The multinational team is working to make improvements to a school and the surrounding community, the narration says.
In the Republic of Korea, U.S. soldiers participated in the Royal Danish Air Force March. The 12.4-mile-long march bolstered unit cohesion and camaraderie while serving to measure service members’ physical endurance and operational readiness.
The 60-second recap is narrated by Senior Airman Maria Washler and was posted to the Defense Visual Information Distribution Service (DVIDS) on September 2, 2026.
